QT Club

How has the QRC space impacted you?

QRC is nothing short of magical. I haven’t attended CCSF for long, but in my time thus far with the school I haven’t felt connected to the campus in any real material way. That was, until I went to my first QT Club meeting held in the QRC. I not only felt an immediate sense of relief walking into the room, but was met with an overwhelming sense of belonging. I never knew how important community, and a place to gather, was to me before going to the QRC.

What about the QRC do you think would be lost in the move to a smaller space?

I think a large sense of safety and comfort would be lost. The QRC is special because of it’s spaciousness and resourcefulness with the space. The lounge, the thrift closet, the computers, everything is purposeful and requires space to house. I think having a smaller QRC would cut back severely on meeting the queer student body’s needs, especially in a time where community is everything to LGBTQIA+ people.
